Sosena Solomon is an award-winning filmmaker and multimedia artist whose work lives at the intersection of documentary, culture, and visual anthropology. She’s spent more than a decade filming across Africa, capturing personal stories with striking imagery, emotional depth, and a real eye for the nuances of community and place. Her films have screened at Sundance, Tribeca, and DOC NYC, and her newest project, a 12-film African Landmark Series, is now on permanent display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
She lives in Old City and teaches film at Penn, where she connects documentary practice with cultural preservation. Around the neighborhood, you can often spot her wandering the streets, always looking distinctly and thoughtfully stylish.
