Tim McFarlane grew up in Philadelphia, and graduated from Tyler School of Art in 1994. His abstract, layered paintings examine the fluid and contradictory nature of memory and place. In addition to works on paper and canvas, Tim’s practice also includes site-specific installations, murals, photography, and digital experimentation. His work is included in many private collections, and the public collections of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, the Woodmere Museum, the Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African American Art, Temple University, and West Virginia University. He is represented by Bridgette Mayer Gallery in Philadelphia. Tim is currently exhibiting new works on paper in the “Soft Architectures” group show at the Bridgette Mayer Gallery through August 1st and is preparing for a solo exhibition in the fall of 2026 at the Zillman Art Museum in Bangor, Maine.
