Sue Liedke runs South Philly Time Capsules, the Instagram account with 46,000 followers devoted to the city’s most beautifully untouched interiors. An art teacher, neighborhood enthusiast, vintage collector, and real estate agent based in South Philly, Sue has a sharp eye for the details most people overlook: pink tile bathrooms, mirrored walls, jalousie windows, plastic-covered couches. What began in 2019 as screenshots from real estate listings quickly became a living archive of local homes that somehow dodged the gray flip.
The account works because it is rooted in real knowledge and real access. As a realtor, Sue is often the first to step inside these houses, and she understands both their emotional pull and their practical realities. She is not chasing trends or pushing a single idea of preservation. She is documenting how people actually lived, decorated, and made bold choices in small spaces. The result is part design archive, part neighborhood storytelling, and fully South Philly.

I love popping in to see my friends at Philly Typewriter. They’re a bunch of truly enthusiastic mechanics that are good at their craft and are hell bent on preserving some outdated technology (relatable, right?). They’ve got a cool collection of machines that they’d love to tell you some fun facts about, and you can try them all out.
