George Sabatino is an award-winning chef and restaurant owner. In the early days of his career, he worked in the kitchens of Fork, Monk’s Cafe, and Barbuzzo, and landed his first Executive Chef role at Stateside on Passyunk, where he was selected Best of Philly: Best Chef in 2011. In 2014, George opened his first restaurant, Aldine, in Rittenhouse Square, but left after four years to run Rooster Soup Co. He then took a short break from kitchen life to work on a local organic farm, learning the seasonal practices of the farmers who grow our food. Armed with this knowledge, and the years of experience as a chef and owner, George opened Fleur’s, a stunning and ambitious French restaurant in Kensington, in 2025.
We asked George to tell us about a few of his favorite spots around Philly.
