Billy Colbert is a multidisciplinary visual artist and professor. His work explores the complexities and compounded struggles of Black Americans by juxtaposing and reappropriating images from pop culture, often humorously. Many of Billy’s works examine cognitive dissonance in popular culture and celebrate the unsung contributors to American culture at large. His work is a part of many public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Art. Billy’s newest work will be featured in a group exhibition titled Future/Past/Present at InLiquid Gallery, opening June 11th.
